SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES

At The Global Doo Wop Coalition Music Hall of Fame, we're dedicated to introducing youth to the harmonies, rhythms and good feelings that established the foundation for the music they listen to today.  

DOO WOP CLUBS

Designed as a school activity with mentoring from the Global Doo Wop Coalition Music Hall of Fame board members and special guests from different areas of the doo wop spectrum, students participate in a once in a lifetime musical journey.  The goals of the program are to familiarize students with the Doo Wop genre as a foundation of the music they listen to today, to teach Doo Wop vocal group harmony and to prepare and produce a Doo Wop Club benefit performance to support music programs at the school and the ongoing educational programs of the Global Doo Wop Coalition Music Hall of Fame.

We work with school personnel to teach the history of the genre, reverence for the legends whose classic harmonies formed the soundtrack of their grandparents' generation, vocal group harmony and performance skills. At the end of the semester, a benefit performance showcases the students' work and raises money for the school music programs and also for sustaining the Global Doo Wop Coalition Music Hall of Fame's expanding educational programs.

DOO WOP SING OFF COMPETITION     (coming soon)

The Global Doo Wop Coalition Music Hall of Fame Sing Off Competition will launch in the 2016/2017 school year. Participating schools will establish Doo Wop groups according to Doo Wop Sing Off guidelines and, following preliminary rounds, finalists will be selected to participate in a city-wide competition. The final sing off event will take place at a major Los Angeles performance venue where students will be competing for cash awards to benefit their school music programs. Finalists will benefit from mentorship by members of the Global Doo Wop Coalition Music Hall of Fame and other industry greats.
